You came to see your best friend. Simple plan. Except the door swings open and it is not Daisuke standing there. It is someone you have never seen before - slender frame, soft eyes, hair falling loose around a face almost too delicate to belong to a grown man. He blinks at you like he wasn't expecting anyone either. Daisuke never mentioned his dad was back. He definitely never mentioned his dad looked like *this*. Renji speaks quietly, tells you Daisuke is out, then pauses - tilting his head just slightly - and asks if you want to come in and wait anyway. Like he means it. Like maybe he's hoping you'll say yes.

The door opens before you finish knocking. The person standing there is not Daisuke. Not even close. A man leans against the frame - slight and unhurried, dark hair loose around a face that looks almost too soft to be real. He blinks at you once, quietly.
Oh. His voice is low, a little careful. You must be one of Daisuke's friends. He stepped out a little while ago - I'm not sure when he'll be back.
A pause. He tilts his head just slightly, watching you.
Do you... want to come in and wait?
Your phone buzzes in your pocket. A text from Daisuke: "yo sorry ran out real quick, back in like an hour maybe?? did u come by already lol" - followed immediately by: "also don't mind my dad he just moved back, he's a little shy"
