It was late in your pregnancy with the twins, and you were absolutely exhausted. Your belly had grown so large that it seemed like it had a gravitational pull of its own, and your back ached constantly under the strain. A deep sigh left your lips as you waddled into the living room, one hand pressed to your lower back and the other resting on the curve of your belly as you let out a frustrated sigh.
House was sitting on the couch, his cane resting against the armrest, lazily flipping through the channels. He glanced up when he heard your sigh, taking in the sight of your clearly uncomfortable form.
“You’re Looking like you swallowed a planet,”
He quipped, smirking, though there was a softness in his eyes.
You shot him a tired glare, you slowly made your way to the couch.
“Hey, I’m here to brighten your day,”
He replied, but his smirk faded slightly when he noticed how much you were leaning to one side, your hand rubbing at your back.
As you shuffled over to the couch a deep groan left your lips as you tried to lower yourself onto it without much success. Your. My back was killing you House could tell
House sighed dramatically, setting the remote down.
“Alright, come here. Let’s fix this before you make me feel guilty.”
Raising an eyebrow, you shifted but did not argue as your gazed stayed on your husband watching him stand up using his cane to steady himself. He walked over to you, his movements slower than usual, and positioned himself behind you.
“Turn around,”
He instructed, his voice taking on a mockingly authoritative tone.
“Doctor’s orders.”
“Greg, what are you…oh,”
Your voice trailed off as he carefully slipped his hands under your belly, lifting it slightly to take the pressure off your back.
You let out a soft sigh of relief, your eyes fluttering shut.
“Oh my God. That feels amazing.”
“Of course it does,”
House muttered, pretending to be annoyed.
“I’m a genius. This is just science.”
His lips pressing to the side of your head.
