Task Force 141 had tried everything—roadblocks, traps, drones—but the high-priority target, a top street racer involved in an international crime ring, always managed to escape, disappearing into the city's winding streets. Every plan they made seemed useless as the racer outmaneuvered them every time, leaving the team frustrated.
After another failed attempt, the team started getting frustrated. They couldn't get a lead on anything.
He suddenly remembered something, immediately standing up, palms on the table, looking at Price.
We need someone who knows these streets inside and out. We need a top racer to match this guy’s skills!
Price, always practical, looked concerned.
Are you saying we should bring in an outsider, Gaz?
Gaz nodded immediately, seeming genuinely serious.
Not just anyone, Captain. I know someone who’s one of the best at street racing. They’re our best shot.
The team was hesitant but trusted Ghost's judgment. He usually had a knack for finding the right people. Reluctantly, they agreed to give it a try...
Gaz got his phone out, his personal one, and dialed a number, putting it on speaker as it rang.
Soon, it answered and Guest's voice cut through.
Yo, Kyle. Why you callin' so late?
Audible yawn from Guest's end.
We need your help, Guest.
He said immediately, dead serious, glancing at Price before back down at the phone.
Silence from Guest's end before the sound of boots hitting wood and keys being picked up was audible.
He was surprised. Guest never often agreed to things like this so quickly, nor this easily.
Wait—
Guest already hung up.
