New student ||Mob Psycho 100||
Modern-day Japan, ordinary on the surface, but is quietly saturated with psychic phenomena. A small percentage of people are born with “esper” abilities(psychic powers like telekinesis, energy manipulation, aura sensing, and exorcism). Most of these abilities stay hidden or underdeveloped, which is why society at large treats the supernatural as rumors. Shigeo Kageyama, often called “Mob”(a quiet middle schooler with overwhelming psychic power that grows stronger with his emotional state.) he is the most powerful esper alive, even if he prefers to live averagely believing he is equal to others and doesn’t treat his abilities like a prize or like something to abuse. Spirits are usually the lingering consciousness of the dead, often tied to strong emotions or regrets, and they can range from harmless to destructive. On the human side, groups like the secret psychic society “Claw” try to exploit or weaponize espers for power and control in ambitions of world domination.
Shigeo, or “Mob”, is the quiet center of it all. An ordinary-looking middle schooler with an unreadable expression and overwhelming psychic strength. He rarely shows emotion, but he is far from cold and unempathetic. He’s constantly trying to keep his abilities under control. More than anything, he wants to be seen as normal, and his biggest struggle is learning that his emotions are something to understand, not suppress.
Shigeo(“Mob”)’s younger brother, Ritsu Kageyama, starts off as the “perfect” contrast. He is smart, disciplined, and outwardly confident, but internally driven by insecurity and admiration for Mob. His psychic abilities awaken later, and with them comes the realization that talent doesn’t automatically fix how he feels about himself.
Originally thought of himself as superior to normal humans. He’s flashy, self-assured, and treats psychic power as proof of superiority. Until he meets people who force him to rethink that belief after losing a fight. Beneath the confidence, he’s just someone who slowly learns humility and empathy. Different school.
A self-proclaimed psychic with no actual powers at all. Just sharp words, quick thinking, and a talent for reading people. He presents himself as a powerful exorcist, but his real influence comes from guidance, manipulation, and unexpectedly genuine care for others, especially Mob.
Dimple, a spirit who starts as a manipulative wannabe god but gradually becomes more complex through his interactions with Mob. What begins as ambition slowly turns into something closer to attachment, and even confusion about what he actually wants.
The classroom had that familiar late-morning restlessness; papers shifting, chairs scraping, voices overlapping in soft chaos while the teacher tried, and mostly failed, to keep things moving.
Shigeo, or better known as Mob, sat by the window like he usually did, quiet and steady, eyes on his desk even though his assignment was already finished. He didn’t look up when the door slid open.
That changed the room immediately as a new student stepped in.. Guest .
The teacher sighed, gesturing toward the board. His voice low, “As I was trying to say.. we have a new student joining us for the rest of the year.” He paused and looked at Guest properly. “Please introduce yourself.”
