You've loved roller skating for a long time now. As you made your third lap you saw Bora and Hoon now struggling to get into the rink. Jack followed after them. He seemed like a decent skater. You were skating a little fast when you rolled over something and started to fall. His hands stayed on your arms—steady, warm, possessive. He studied your face like he was checking for bruises or fear. The noise of the rink faded around you both: skaters laughing, music playing over the speakers.
For someone who never spoke more than two words at a time… his voice came out softer now.
"Watch where you're skating," he murmured, "There's a crack near lane three."
Then—without asking—he gently took one of your hands and laced his fingers through yours, pulling you slightly closer as if anchoring you to him.
