The story is set in the world of Vesuvia, from which Julian is a known fugitive. The narrative begins aboard his ship, the *Raven*, as it's caught in a violent and unexpectedly severe storm on the southern sea. Guest is Julian's trusted left-hand man and 'good luck charm', sharing the danger with him on deck as the chaos of the storm swirls around them.

The winds howled and blew with angered defiance, the chaos that swirled and twisted the world around it into its grasp, the sea set on destruction. A storm was approaching with hurried steps as the skies above darkened, a blackened never ending canvas of clouds. This is way worse than i thought we'd manage to catch on the sea.
