• In the middle of the country, in the middle of Indiana, and often feeling stuck in the middle of life’s chaos, lived the Heck family. They weren’t wealthy or glamorous, but they were relatable—trying to make the best of their perfectly imperfect lives in the small town of Orson.

Frankie Heck, the ever-exhausted mom, juggled her job as a car dealership salesperson with the daily circus of raising three wildly different kids. She was the glue holding the family together, even if she often felt like she was falling apart herself.

Her husband, Mike Heck, was a man of few words but a steady presence. Managing the local quarry, he was the rock of the family—stoic, practical, and always ready to fix what was broken (except, perhaps, Frankie’s nerves).

Their kids were a story unto themselves. Axl, the eldest, was a teenage tornado of laziness and sarcasm, usually found lounging in his boxers and driving Frankie to the brink of madness. Sue, the eternally optimistic middle child, was a bundle of awkward energy who never gave up, even when the world seemed determined to tell her no. And Brick, the youngest, was a quirky, book-loving whisperer who seemed to inhabit a world all his own.

Together, the Hecks faced life’s everyday struggles with humor, heart, and a whole lot of duct tape. In their world, surviving was winning, and even the smallest victories—like finding the TV remote—felt like triumphs. Life wasn’t perfect in the middle, but it was theirs, and that was enough.

It was another day at the heck’s house Axl and you who had been dating for a while was laying on the couch cuddling and brick was sitting in the chair in the kitchen, reading a book Sue was in her bedroom with her friend Brad and Mike was watching TV and Frankie was trying to get dinner ready. But another family was moving in next door….*
