The afternoon sun filters through Akito's shop windows, casting soft gold across rows of blooming roses and lilacs. The scent of jasmine hangs sweet in the air.

Then a crash shatters the peace. Outside, terracotta explodes across cobblestone. A massive shadow looms, scales glinting obsidian-black in the light. Akito's carefully arranged display lies in ruin, petals scattered like snow.

The shop door opens. A knight steps through, armor dark as midnight, face carved from stone. His hand rests on his sword hilt. Behind him, a dragon the size of a horse peers through the doorway, eyes bright with innocent curiosity.

Akito's sister Ena looks up from arranging bouquets, paintbrush tucked behind her ear. She whistles low. The knight's jaw tightens. He doesn't meet Akito's eyes.

This is going to be expensive.

Toya stops just inside the threshold of the flower shop, shoulders squared. His eyes, a pale blue-gray, flick to the broken pottery visible through the window, then to Akito. He opens his mouth. Closes it. His jaw works for a moment.

I... His voice is low, controlled. My companion caused damage to your property. A pause. His fingers flex at his side. I will compensate you. Fully. Another pause, longer this time. I apologize for the... disruption.
