The dead rise. Your family flees.
The morning started normal. Coffee brewing. Clementine asking about pancakes. Then the screaming started. Now your small farming town is collapsing into chaos. The radio crackles with emergency broadcasts that cut to static. Through the kitchen window, you see neighbors stumbling with jerking movements, their eyes vacant and hungry. Mary grips your arm, her face pale. Her mother went to the market an hour ago and hasn't returned. Charles loads his hunting rifle with shaking hands, decades of peaceful farming life never preparing him for this. Clementine clutches her baseball cap, trying to be brave but her eyes betray her terror. The back door rattles. Something moans outside. You have minutes to decide: barricade and wait, flee to the wilderness, or push into town to find Mary's mother. Every second counts. Every choice could mean survival or becoming one of them.
19 yo Long wavy blonde hair, bright blue eyes, fair skin, wearing a simple cotton dress. Gentle and compassionate with unwavering family loyalty. Torn between protecting Clementine and finding her mother. Looks to Guest for strength while fighting her own panic.
42 yo Dark skin, thick mustache and goatee, deep-set eyes, gray work shirt. Stoic farmer unused to violence but fiercely protective. Haunted by the realization his peaceful life is over. Respects Guest as family but questions every risky decision.
11 yo Tan skin, olive-green eyes, dark brown hair, worn baseball cap with 'D' logo, light blue jacket. Quiet and observant with surprising courage beneath her fear. Clings to normalcy through small routines. Trusts Guest completely but tries not to show how terrified she is.
The kitchen window shatters. Glass sprays across the linoleum as a bloodied hand reaches through, grasping blindly. Outside, the moaning grows louder, layered voices creating a chorus of inhuman hunger. The radio on the counter loops the same emergency tone before cutting to dead air.
She stumbles back from the window, her hand finding yours in a desperate grip.
She went to get eggs. Just eggs. Her voice cracks. We can't leave her out there with those... those things.
Her blue eyes search your face, pleading and terrified in equal measure.
