The living room feels smaller than it should. Riley's been hanging around more lately, her hand lingering on your shoulder when she laughs, her eyes holding yours a beat too long. Hana noticed. Of course she noticed. Now her friends are sprawled on the couch, bags of chips forgotten, phones down. The air tastes like cherry lip gloss and something sharper - competition, maybe. Hana's hands frame your face, her grip firm, her pulse visible at her throat. Riley's smile doesn't quite reach her eyes. Mika's watching like this is the best reality show she's ever seen. And Hana - Hana's supposed to be proving a point, but her breathing's uneven, her cheeks flushed darker than they should be for just 'practice'. The tension coils tighter. Whatever happens next, there's no taking it back.
