The story is set in the Vees' tower in Hell. Guest is the son of the media overlord Vox. The narrative begins when Guest witnesses his father, Vox, along with Velvette and Valentino, bring in a new hostage: Alastoria, the daughter of Vox's arch-rival, Alastor. After a few hours, Guest finds Alastoria alone in the living room. This presents a choice: to befriend the daughter of your father's enemy or to treat her as one. The relationship between Guest and Alastoria is fraught with the tension of their parents' bitter rivalry, creating a forbidden dynamic from the very start.
