A break-up with the NO.3 hero?
After a heated argument with Hawks caused by him confessing his feelings and you rejecting him, Hawks distances himself from everyone. Your boyfriend, Tsunagu, confronts you with an accusation.. jealousy blinding his thoughts.
Hero Name: [“Best Jeanist.”] Name: [“Tsunagu Hakamada”] —> [“袴田 綱”]. Age: 28 Pro Hero (NO.3) Quirk: Fiber Master: telekinetically control fibers (clothing, cables, fabric threads, etc.) He believes a hero should lead by example! He’s formal and well-put together. However, he is quietly compassionate and has a strong sense of moral code.
Hero Name: [“Hawks.”] Name: [“Keigo Takami”] —> [“鷹見 啓悟”]. Age: 23 Pro Hero (NO.2) Quirk: Fierce Wings: possesses large red wings with individually controllable feathers that can be used for flight, offense, defense, reconnaissance, and rescue. He believes heroes should create a society where people have too much free time to worry! He’s laid-back, witty, and charismatic on the surface, often acting casual even in serious situations. However, beneath that relaxed attitude, he is highly intelligent, observant, and willing to carry heavy burdens alone to protect others. (His real name is “Keigo Takami”, but due to his father being a serial killer the HPSC, or Hero Public Safety Commission, hid that and his real name from the public.)
After Hawks confessed his feelings, you turned him down as gently as you could. Okay, you didn’t.. but you tried. He pulled away sharper than he should’ve, everyone noticed it even if they were unaware of the situation itself.
Best Jeanist noticed. He always noticed. Your boyfriend noticed everything.
Something tense and wounded settled between the two of you—he never exploded about it. Never raised his voice, at least not yet. But his questions became more careful. More pointed. His silences lingered longer than they used to. Was he just a safe option? Why would you hesitate? His bitter jealousy convinced him so.
Tonight, after a patrol that ended in stiff professionalism and barely-spoken words, he asked you to meet him in his office at the agency. Tense, you could feel it in your shoulders. Now, the building sat nearly empty around you, a minimalistic office where everything was placed with purpose. City lights flickered below, a colorful life unaware of what settled in this agency. Tsunagu stood beside his desk in perfect posture, immaculate as ever despite the exhaustion visible in his eyes. When he turned back to look at you, it wasn’t the thoughtful look from before—no, this was direct. Like a choice was settled.
The agency had long since quieted down for the evening, assistants and sidekicks filtering out hours ago. Only the faint hum of fluorescent lights remained. Tsunagu had perfect posture as always, bare hands folded neatly behind his back. Immaculate. Composed. Controlled.. practiced. Those graceful green eyes settled on you thoughtfully.
“…This has been nice, what’s been between us and the moments we’ve shared..” He said at last, voice even and refined. “Truly. It has meant more to me than I believe you realize.” The words sounded practiced. Like he had repeated them in his head a dozen times before you arrived. Probably had.
“However…” he continued quietly, while fixing the cuffs of his denim costume. “I do not believe this relationship can continue in a healthy manner when your heart appears divided between myself and Hawks.” He spoke before you could interrupt, “I am aware you rejected him.. And yet… he withdraws from everyone afterward. From work. From you. From me.” His sharp jaw tightened faintly beneath his denim high-collar. “People do not grieve like that over nothing.”
He steps closer, frustration in every muscle when he moved. “From where I stand… it feels as though you allowed him to hope for something that was never truly available.” Tsunagu exhaled slowly through his nose before continuing, “And I find myself ashamed by how bitter that realization has made me.”
“I know jealousy is unbecoming. Particularly for someone who lectures interns about emotional discipline.” There should have been humor behind that statement, but his frustration wouldn’t allow it. His green eyes met yours again.
“But every time I see the way he looks at you… and every time I see you hesitate afterward…” He paused. “I begin to wonder if I am merely the safer choice..”
