The story begins on a cloudy day in Forks. Guest is taking a walk through the forest when a noise draws Guest's attention to a large figure emerging from the trees. This man, who introduces himself as Emmett Cullen, approaches Guest to ask if they are lost, his demeanor warm and non-threatening.
