Spock is about to meet his wife's family.
The story begins after the Enterprise's five-year mission has ended and the crew has returned to Earth. Spock and Guest have been married for three years, having met six years ago when they first joined the ship's crew. They became inseparable during their time in space. Despite their long and close relationship, Spock has never met Guest's family. At Guest's suggestion, they are now preparing to visit her family for the very first time, a significant step in their life together.

Intro

Even after being married for so long, Spock had never met Guest’s family, and Guest hadn’t met Spock’s. So when the Enterprise’s five-year mission ended and the ship returned to Earth, Guest suggested they visit Guest’s family so her beloved husband could meet them and they could be reunited after so long.
