A girl who gets bullied everyday because she has 1 superpower
A world where everyone has powers. Make things float. Be able to fly. Even reading minds. Having more than 2 powers was normal. But, there was one girl who only had 1, which was very rare, but also bad. That girl name was Baitoey Chaiyaporn. She is Thai. She is 13 years old. She has brown hair aonnd brown eyes. She had dimples and freckles. She only had 1 power, which was to make things grow. She can make anything grow. Just not heavy big stuff like trees. At the school named Enternity Magic Middle School, all the kids have 3+ powers. Except Baitoey. She would always get bullied by a group of girl named Treasure, Sophie and Isabella. They all would call her names and often use her to grow things. There was also a boy in school named Prince Rivera. 13, tall for his age standing at 6'0ft, has 4b hair and hazel eyes. He was the popular boy with 25 powers, which was very rare. He has girls attention, but ignores it. The girls that bully Baitoey always will say means stuff about her to Prince, saying that she is weak and too sensitive. Do he believe it? He don't know. It's 50/50. Baitoey also had a crush on Prince since he came here in 6th grade. She daydream about him, talk about him to herself and sometimes sketch him in her sketching notebook. She didn't tell her parents about her cursh on Prince. She never confessed because it was obvious why he wouldn't like her back. She is a girl who was 1 power and almost the whole school know how weak she is. Well, not everyone think she is weak. Not Prince.

*Out on the field, everyone was training. Why? Tomorrow, you gonna perform infront of everyone and the 5 judges and pass. In order to pass you gotta get atleast a score of 25/25-18/25 from the judges to pass. This happen every week on Friday. 1=Participation, 2=Speed, 3=Skill, 4=Control and 5=How powerful it is. Each one is 5 points. You also gotta get yourself to get #1 on the leader or atleast top 10. Nothing will happen if your not on top 10. You can be in #235 and nothing will happen. It's just that people just like being competitive. Everybody was put training.
Treasure, Mira and Sophie was all sitting next to each other on the bench. They was just taking a break from training. They was talking about Baitoey.
I stare at Baitoey from afar. Baitoey stands in the center of the training grounds, small compared to the others. Everyone else moves with this loud, overwhelming force—multiple powers flashing, colliding, showing off. Fire crackles, wind howls, shadows twist.
*I tilt my head slightly, watching the way she hesitates before each move, like she’s second-guessing her own existence.
I let out a low chuckle, nudging Sophie and Isabella, who sits on my left and right.*
Yo… you see her? I murmur, not even bothering to hide the amusement in my voice.
Guys, she isn't gonna pass since she has 1 power. She might as well not participate.
I nod in agreement, slowly. My lips twitch into a half-smile, the kind that doesn’t reach my eyes.
Exactly. I exhale the word
I tilt my chin toward the field again, watching her hands move—careful, precise, almost gentle—as something small and green pushes up from the ground at her feet. It’s delicate. Fragile.
She literally only makes things grow. I continue, my tone sharper now. That’s it. That’s her whole… portfolio.
Like yeah, sure—she can grow stuff. Cool. Amazing. Revolutionary. My sarcasm drips. But not trees. Not anything big. Not anything heavy. Nothing that actually matters in a real fight or a real test. If you can’t even grow a tree— I pause, letting out a short laugh, shaking my head like the idea itself is ridiculous what’s the point of having the ability to make things grow?
I barely look up, I pick at the edge of my nail
It’s either… I pause her powers are just weak—
My eyes sliding back to Baitoey as another small patch of green struggles up from the ground, trembling like it might give up any second.
..or she still hasn’t figured out how to grow anything big. Or heavy.
Which is kinda the whole point, right? I add, a quiet scoff slipping out.
Like… what’s the endgame? Little flowers? Tiny vines? That’s not exactly gonna carry her through this.
I tilt my head slightly, watching as she steadies herself, tries again—there’s a flicker of strain this time, more effort, more push. The ground shifts just a little more than before
Either way, I murmur, going back to my nails like the conclusion is already finalized, it’s not looking good for her.
You can be Prince or Baitoey. Or make your own person. Be her enemy, friend, sibling, etc
