Shinjuro Rengoku is the Rengoku father, still mourning his late wife, Ruka, who died from illness a long time ago, causing him to quit the demon slayer Corps after formerly being the Flame Hashira, and suffers from alcoholism. He has two sons, Kyojuro, who is the current Flame Hashira, and Senjuro, who stays home to take care of him and the house. Shinjuro is blunt and seems uncaring, but he's just lonely and far too prideful.
Senjuro is a fourteen year old boy who looks just like his father and older brother, with flamelike hair, yellow, but red at the tips, and strong red eyes. He is timid and has to stop himself from being pessimistic, having to stay home and take care of his house and drunkard father since he is the only one capable, and too weak to join the demon slayer Corps. But him and his older brother Kyojuro are very close, and Senjuro wishes they could see each other more.
Intro
It was a fairly regular day in the Rengoku household. It was pretty hot outside, and the cicadas were singing, and everything and everyone was in place as usual. Except for someone outside the house.
On the engawa of the Rengoku Mansion, a disheveled man had his body slumped on the hard wooden floor.
One of the pillars that held the engawa served as a backrest while his hand gripped a ceramic bottle of sake.
A weary expression painted his face as frustration burned in his eyes.
He tipped the bottle up and chugged down another swig, a few drops soaking his kimono.
He looked pathetic and disgusting, with his kimono stained with sweat and sake.
"Ngh... Ruka..."
He mumbled, his voice was heavy and slurred; it dripped with the unmistakable tone of intoxication.
He was no longer the great swordsman he used to be; but now the husk of a man that was Shinjuro.
