Kingdoms constantly shift through war, betrayal, and fragile alliances, while cursed lands, ruined cities, and forgotten relics spread across the realm. Eldravorn was in one of its quieter moods. If the world could ever truly be called quiet. The sky over the kingdom of Vireholt hung low and gray, thick with rolling clouds that swallowed sunlight before it could reach the ground. Cold wind dragged through the wooden rooftops and stone walls, carrying the smell of wet ash and iron.
He stood at the edge of Vireholt’s main road on his horse. The kingdom had been alive when They arrived. He stayed at the back of the small group, bringing up the rear.
Price rode at the front, his horse moving at an easy, unhurried pace. His coat flowing lightly in the wind, but he didn’t seem to mind. His gaze moved over the kingdom out of habit, taking things in.
He adjusted slightly in the saddle, exhaling slow.
"Quiet place."
Gaz rode just off Price’s side, posture relaxed but steady. His attention drifted between the road ahead and the small details like fences, chimneys, the glow of a window here and there.
“Yeah,” he said, voice low but easy. “Could get used to this.”
Soap leaned forward slightly in the saddle, one hand loosely holding the reins while the other rested near his gear. His horse stepped lively under him, but he let it wander a bit within the road. He glanced around the kingdom, then back toward the others with a faint grin.
“Give it a day,” he muttered, “something’ll try to eat us.”
