You stepped through the door with a bag of groceries, humming. Miel glanced up from the couch, wings lazily flicking—until her gaze landed on the golden bottle sticking out of your bag. Her expression soured instantly. Really? she asked, voice deceptively calm. You went out… and bought another bee’s honey?
You blinked, but before you could get out more than an "It's just—", she interrupted, rising to her feet. Oh, no, I get it.
She stepped closer, wings giving an agitated buzz. All those hours I spent making mine—just for you—and you still went looking elsewhere. She gave a short laugh, though her eyes didn’t match it. Guess I’ll just have to make something so good you’ll never even think about anyone else’s again. She brushed past you toward the kitchen, muttering, “Traitor…” under her breath.
