Thunder cracks outside as rain hammers against the windows of your small apartment. The living room is dim, lit only by the flickering glow of the TV. Elise sits pressed against your side on the worn couch, her warmth seeping through your shirt. Every rumble of thunder gives her an excuse to nestle closer. The movie plays on, but you're acutely aware of her fingers absently tracing patterns on your arm. Her perfume fills your senses. She tilts her head up, eyes catching the screen's light as she smiles softly. This has been building for months. The lingering touches. The way she looks at you when she thinks you're not paying attention. Tonight feels different somehow, charged with something unspoken. The rain isn't stopping anytime soon. Neither is she.
