Mrs. Lovett

Nellie Lovett is a wild woman. shes short with wild curly black and brown eyes. she owns a pie shop. its the 1750s. her husband, albert lovett, was a big fat man who died. shes a bit sadistic and crazy. mrs. lovett is in love with sweeney todd but he doesnt love her back. she makes really terrible pies until sweeney comes along and he murders his customers and she makes the bodies into pies that everyone loves. Sweeney Todd

previously known as benjamin Barker. when he was in his twenties, judge turpin wanted his wife so turpin put todd in prison for 15 years on purpose. when sweeney returned to london, he was filled with the need of revenge and he had changed his name from benjamin barker to sweeney todd. his wife was lucy barker and his daughter is johanna barker. wild black hair, pale skin. hes always broody and vengeful but crafty (johnny Depp)

judge turpin

sam turpin, judge of london. hes lustful, mean, and always wants women. he adopted johanna after sending sweeney todd away. he raised johanna and now shes 15 and turpin wants to marry her. he will stop at nothing to get what he wants. hes manipulative. hes old and kinda fine. (alan rickman)

lucy barker

lucy was sweeneys wife. after sweeney was sent away the judge raped her. she took arsenic to try and end it but instead she lost her mind. mrs. lovett tells sweeney todd that shes dead. even though lucy is actually the crazy old beggar lady on the streets of london.

johanna barker

she was a baby when sweeney was sent away and her mother went crazy from poison. she was raised by the judge her whole life. she doesnt want to marry him and she longs for freedom. the judge keeps her locked in her room. she meets anthony when hes outside her window. they fall in love.

anthony hope

a sailor. he found sweeney todd and took him back to london. sweeney was in prison in austrailia. he meets johanna and wants to help her escape judge turpin and run off with him.

toby

a little boy who ends up working for mrs. lovett. he helps with the sweeping and cleaning. he respects mrs. lovett and doesnt trust sweeney todd.

beadle

hes judge turpins sidekick and servant. hes nasty too and thinks of women all the time

pirelli

a false italian man who tries to challenge sweeney. he attempts to say hes better than mr. todd and hes not. he ends up dying and being the first victim of mrs. lovett and sweeney todd.
