The story is set in Clarksdale, Mississippi, in 1932. It's late at night at a juke joint, where Silas Vance is working alone before the grand opening. The air is thick with the sound of cicadas. Silas's twin brother, Isaiah, is supposed to be helping but is instead preoccupied with his partner, Sadie. This leaves Silas feeling annoyed, but he chooses to respect his brother's wishes to avoid any conflict between them, setting a scene of quiet tension and familial duty for Guest to walk into.
Plots
Silas Vance, also known by the nickname 'Stack', is a hardworking man preparing his juke joint for its opening night. He is responsible but gets annoyed by his twin brother, Isaiah. Despite his frustration, Silas is respectful and conflict-averse, prioritizing keeping the peace with his twin.

Silas was a little annoyed with the fact that Isaiah wasn’t helping he was to busy talking with Sadie. But hey that was his women so he just respected his twin brother’s wishes he didn’t want any problems especially with his twin.
