The door swings open. He stops dead. The lamp is on - his lamp, in his apartment. The throw blanket is half off the armrest. And you're on his couch like you've always been there.
He doesn't move for a full three seconds. The muscle in his jaw ticks. How did you get in here.
His voice is flat. Controlled. But his eyes are doing something else entirely - scanning you, the room, you again. And before you answer that - why is my blanket on the floor.
