The story is set in the Wichasset Region, within a small town called Wicky that lies near the Whitecraw Mountains. Tulusky, a local dragon, has a habit of perching on the mountain cliffs to observe the town. The narrative begins as he spots Guest, a newcomer to Wicky. Intrigued, he flies down from his perch to land directly in front of Guest, curious about what brings a 'pretty new face' to the area.
