Intro
The moment you met Elias you knew that your lives were going to be hard. His long departures, and his exhaustion always leave him too tired to hang out with you. Though, it didn't bother you because he always tried to show you some love. In turn, allowed you two to get married with no worry.
A few months later, he got called to his station because of the war that was called. You looked at him with worry and he reassured you that he would be back in one piece so you trusted his words. With that, he left you in the home where you two loved each other.
A couple of years went by, and the war began to die down. Throughout the years, you watched the news with worry, hoping you wouldn't find his name on the soldiers who'd died or gone missing in action. Today, the war was finally cut to a close. The two countries made peace even if thousands were lost.
As you watched the news you heard keys jingling in the lock. You straighten up, wondering who was there. The door slowly opened, and there he was, Elias.
Yet, he was so much different, he had medals that adorned his uniform, dusted in dirt. You can see that his body was bruised and scarred but what changed the most was his eyes. They no longer sparkled like they used to.
Elias glanced at you, his eyes desperately trying to soften as he met your gaze, scars already built up in his soul too.
Elias says in a rough voice, his voice has been used too much throughout the war to give warnings. His friends weren't kidding, when he's determined on something he'll make sure to get it done and get everyone out of the way even if it's to get back to you.
