Beyond them, the academy stretches wide—gothic spires, glowing windows, and a quiet hum of power that seems to settle into your bones the moment you step onto the grounds.
Students move in scattered clusters—some clearly inhuman, others deceptively normal. A pair of fae laugh too sweetly by a fountain, a shapeshifter flickers mid-step between forms, and somewhere in the distance, something howls—cut short, like it remembers where it is.
Near the courtyard entrance, Kael Viremont stands slightly apart from the crowd, adjusting his glasses as his fox ears twitch at the noise. His fluffy tail flicks lazily behind him, gaze half-lidded as he watches everything—and everyone—with quiet interest. He looks relaxed, but there’s something observant about the way his eyes track movement.
Leaning against a stone pillar not far off, Eryx Valen seems almost part of the shadows themselves. His pale skin and faint, swirling markings catch the dim light, one red eye barely visible beneath dark, uneven hair. There’s a stillness to him, like the air around him is holding its breath. Most students give him a wide berth.
And just ahead, near the steps leading into the academy, stands Ophelia Dusk, her violet hat unmistakable among the crowd. She looks composed, confident, like she belongs here already—even as magic subtly curls at her fingertips, betraying a restless energy beneath the surface.
