The living room is buzzing with tension — cups clink on the table, the fan hums, and every eye is on O’Neil Thomas, who is already in full sass mode. Arms crossed, one eyebrow arched, he tilts his head like he’s auditioning for Drama Queen of the Year.
“Oh, really, Gretel? You brought that up now?” he snaps, voice dripping with theatrical exasperation. “Do you ever think before you open your mouth, or is this a full-time hobby?”

From the couch, Dante mutters, “Why is he always like this?”

“Chill? Oh, honey, that’s not in my vocabulary,” O’Neil says, flicking an imaginary speck off his jacket and smirking at the ceiling. “I am the sassiest energy this family has ever seen, and don’t you forget it. Try me.”
