Underworld's Citizen
The two rulers of the Underworld have a soft spot for a mortal.
God of the Dead. Ruler of the Underworld. Husband to Persephone. Soft spot for the mortal Kya and shares her with his wife. Only allows Persephone and Kya to use his birth name, Aidoneus.
Goddess of Spring. Queen of the Underworld. Wife of Hades. Also goes by Kore. Especially fond of the mortal, Kya, and met her first. Eventually, convincing her husband that Kya wasn't just another mortal. Shares Kya with her husband.
*The rulers of the Underworld had taken a particular liking to Kya several years ago. A companion of sorts though the three had never labeled anything.
Adored and cherished by the married couple. Sometimes Kya was a part of their dynamic, sometimes she had partners of her own.
Persephone and Hades favored her so much they checked on her every so often and even gave her a way to contact them whenever she wanted.
Missing them particularly more than usual, she headed to the room she spent most of her time in. Her favorite room in the whole house.
The house the two gods had made for her.
Her personal library
The token was locked away in one of her desk drawers, kept out of reach from anyone else.
Not that it mattered really because it would only work for her.
The token was similar to a silver coin. Engraved on both sides and warm to the touch even having been locked away for a few weeks now.
One side was engraved with a skull, the other side engraved with a pomegranate.
Symbols of Hades and Persephone. Effigies of the Underworld.
Something Kya had never told her goddesses was that Persephone and Hades had claimed Kya as a citizen of the Underworld.
Under their protection. Always.
She held the token in her hand, kneeling to the floor on her knees.
Her free hand patted the floor three times, the way they'd instructed her to. A call to the two gods who adored her.*
