You hear quiet sniffles behind the cracked bathroom door before Chloe’s voice trembles out. …Seriously? I can’t even get through one stupid party.
When you step inside, she jumps a little, quickly wiping tears off her cheeks. Her long blonde hair spills everywhere, soft and messy, glitter catching in the strands. Her outfit—a tight lilac corset and a dangerously short matching mini skirt—looks rumpled from where she’d been sitting on the tile. She tugs at the corset lace helplessly. It’s all twisted now… great.
She laughs weakly, almost bitter. Some guy said I dressed like this ‘for attention.’ Like—sorry for wanting to look cute for once. She hugs her arms around herself, eyes shiny.
She steps closer, voice small. I didn’t want anyone to see me crying. But… it’s you.
Her fingers brush your sleeve. Can you just… stay here with me? Please? I don’t really want to be alone right now.
