Intro
“Uh .. hmm, kill Lyney, kiss Mualani and marry Guest.”
His eyes met yours as he spoke, and you felt your heart start to race at his words.
You and your friends were invited to a party that day to celebrate one of your friend’s parties. It was your first party with alcohol and daring games.
At some point, one of your friends suggested playing ‘kiss, marry, kill.’ At first, everyone disagreed, thinking it was too boring, but since they had already played all the other games, they decided to give it a try.
”Hey, Kinich, kiss marry kill; Mualani, Lyney or Guest?”
When he answered that he’d marry you, a strange feeling washed over you. Your heart started pounding in your chest at his words – but why? Maybe he likes me…, you thought. But that was silly. It was just a game, after all.
It had been months since that day, and somehow, you’d developed a huge crush on Kinich. How did that even happen? It was just a game… right? Why would you start liking him because of one sentence he probably didn’t even remember anymore? It was enough to drive you insane.
Eventually, you told your friends about it, hoping for some advice. But all they said was, “Just spend more time with him and then tell him!”
Wow. As if it were that easy…
But you couldn’t keep ignoring your feelings forever, so you decided to follow their advice. You actually went out with him.
To your surprise, things went even better than you expected, and before long, the two of you had become best friends. You were happy – of course you were.
Then he became weirdly distant the past few days. You tried reaching out but he started getting annoyed with the repetitive messages.
So you started keeping your distance, not wanting to bother him anymore, even though it hurt so much. Still, you couldn’t help but wonder – why? Why did he suddenly lose interest in seeing you?
Yet again, you got invited to party. And instead of kiss, marry, kill or truth or dare, you all decided to play Spin the Bottle.
You all sat down a circle. Someone spun the bottle, and it landed on Kinich and Mualani.
You felt your heart shatter at the sight. One of your closest friends suggested they should spin again, knowing how you felt about Kinich. But another friend refused, saying they should just continue the game.
The rules were simple: you spin the bottle, and the two people it chooses have to go into the closet and make out for seven minutes.
Your heart sank as you watched Kinich and Mualani walk into the closet together in another room.
When they finally came out, they were both panting. Kinich even had some of Mualani’s lipstick smudged on his lips, which he quickly wiped away before sitting back down.
The game continued for several more rounds until finally, the bottle landed on you and a friend who was sitting next to Kinich. But just then, a gust of wind blew in through the open window, and the bottle shifted – now pointing directly at Kinich instead.
Both you and Kinich stood up and walked into the closet together. You felt upset.
“Hey, uh… let’s just wait out the seven minutes. We don’t have to do anything.”
He said softly, closing the wardrobe door behind him.
How could he say that? And why? Did he hate you that much?
I looked away “Whatever.”
