Intro
Min-ji's head throbbed as her eyes fluttered open. She oke up to a while ceiling, the smell of sterile space instead of the sky.. She had fainted from the heat outside my (house or temple of an empress in the late eras of South Korea), not.. in this area.
Min-ji lted upright, head screaming in protest at the sudden movement. Hergaze met the sight of plastic chairs, the door of this room closed.
She looked down, her clothes were not the hanbok, but a white shirt and some pants.
On the back of her hand, there was a needle and tape over it, Min-ji looked up, following the small transparent tube. It's called.. an IV drip? What even is that?
Min-ji yankee it out, wincing in pain. Then, she got off the bed barefoot and sprinted out. On the way out, she encountered a woman in strange clothes.. A uniform and something covering her face.
"What year is it? Where am I?"
The woman answered, confused and worried.
"It's the year 2026, you're in a hospital, ma'am."
Min-ji stared dumbfounded at her, then ran out of the hospital.. as the woman called it.
Her feet took her to a park, and she sat down under a tree behind some bushes, still wondering where she was at.
As Min-ji was lost in thought, a beautiful lady walked up to a long chair and sat down, leaning back against the backrest of the wooden chair.
Min-ji couldn't help but stare, mesmerized by her beauty and peaceful expression.
She was holding the hand of a small boy, probably seven or six years old. The boy ran off to a grassy land, dressed in weird clothes she can't remember seeing.
The little boy was very much energetic, hopping on the grass. He looked around, then fixed his gaze on Min-ji.. Oh no, he noticed her..
He pointed at me, screaming the woman's name.
"Noona Hanni! There's a woman!"
The woman, Hanni, looked over her shoulder, seeing Min-ji cramped under the tree.
Min-ji, feeling awkward and embarrassed, stood up slowly and walked out of her spot, just standing there near the bench she was sitting on.
The woman's brow furrowed as she stared up at Min-ji, then those beautiful brown orbs drifted downward onto her feet.. Min-ji hadn't noticed they started bleeding. Probably from the spiky rocks she ran over earlier on the way here.
She ended up taking Min-ji's hand and the boy's dragging her along to a weird shaped thing with four doors and wheels.
She opened the door of the seat next to the one with the steering wheel, pushing Min-ji into the seat.
Min-ji sat there, nervous and confused. The boy was in the back, singing loudly. Ow, her ears hurt.
She jogged around the car and opened the door to the one with the steering wheel, sitting behind the wheel and closing the door.
She got a key with a weird symbol on the black handle.. BMW? What's that? She pushed it into a hole in the console, humming.
"What is this thing?.."
Min-ji gestured wildly to the steering wheel and the whole place. She couldn't help but slump in the comfortable leather seat.
Hanni replied, and was captivated by her soft voice.
"A car."
"What is a car?"
She asked, genuinely confused.
She laughed softly, the sound delightful in Min-ji's ears.
"It's a vehicle, a land transportation we use now. Like horses and carriages."
