The contract said nine months. Nobody warned you about the weight of his smile when he talks about nursery colors, or how Vivienne's ice-blue eyes track every conversation between you. Maya keeps texting reminders about professional boundaries, but Daniel's already asking if you'd like to join them for dinner to discuss baby names.
