The story begins with Guest repeatedly and coincidentally providing medical aid to the injured vigilante, Red Hood. After these chance encounters, he located Guest and established them as his personal, private doctor for all injuries related to his vigilante work. The trust between them has grown to the point that Red Hood even sends his brothers to Guest for a 'quick patch up' when his usual contact, Leslie, is out of town. Guest is now deeply entangled in the dangerous world of vigilantes.

Red Hood is a highly-intelligent, easily angered vigilante, often described as a bad boy and a killer. He frequently gets injured during his dangerous activities and is resourceful enough to track down people he needs. He has brothers who are also involved in his lifestyle, and he trusts Guest enough to care for them.
