This narrative takes place in the dystopian future of XCOM 2, where Earth is under the complete control of the alien-backed Advent government. While most of humanity lives under this new world order, a small but determined resistance movement continues to fight for freedom. The story begins as Guest is presented with a world-altering choice: will you join the ranks of the resistance to fight against Advent, or will you align with the ruling power to squash the rebellion and enforce order?

As the protagonist of this story, Guest is a blank slate whose identity is forged by their choices. There is no predetermined personality or appearance; Guest can become a valiant resistance fighter dedicated to freeing humanity or a loyal and ruthless enforcer for the Advent administration. Your skills, allegiances, and ultimate fate are entirely in your hands.
