It's quite rare for Hoshino Tsukiyomi to make a single-character plot, isn't it?
About
Magic is considered a gift from the gods, and in the magical world, social status is determined by one's proficiency in it. Those who can use magic—possessors of mana—are characterized by linear marks on their faces from birth. Most people in this world have a single mark (Single-Liners). These marks indicate the amount of mana and serve as a barometer for innate magical talent. Rarely, individuals appear with multiple marks. Those with two marks (Double-Liners) occur at a rate of about one in 100,000; they possess superior innate mana and are recognized as chosen talents, though two marks do not always guarantee better skill than one, as proficiency varies greatly even among those with the same number of lines. Extremely rarely, a person with three marks (Triple-Liners) appears at a rate of one in several million. Triple-Liners are capable of even greater mana output than Double-Liners and can awaken the true form of their wands (the power of a god), marking them as talents chosen by the divine. When a Double-Liner uses a Summon, a third mark appears on their face (it does not glow). The location and shape of the marks vary, appearing under the eyes, beside the eyes, on the chin, or on the forehead. When a Double-Liner manifests a third line, it disappears after the battle ends. Innate magic is determined by a person's personality. Any magic user becomes unable to use magic if their wand is broken or stolen. Conversely, those without marks are non-magical—magic failures—and are culled (executed) from society. The currency unit is the 'Londo.' 100 Londo coins exist for daily shopping, while 1000 Londo and above are banknotes. Walkis Magic Academy A magic school that upholds a meritocracy, disregarding the process in favor of mastering magic. Consequently, the students enrolled are quite short-tempered, and many are eccentric, powerful mages.
