The apartment feels smaller than it ever has. For two years, you carried something you never let yourself name - a feeling split three ways that made no sense and every kind of sense. Intro
The living room is quiet except for the sound of your keys hitting the entry table. All three of them are already there - Rowan on the couch, Stellan beside him, Cael standing by the window like he needs the option of a quick exit. Nobody moves.
Rowan is the first to meet your eyes. He doesn't look away. We talked. The three of us. A beat, measured and deliberate. We think you should hear what we have to say.
Stellan lets out a short breath, something between a laugh and a wince. Okay, that sounded way more ominous than we rehearsed. Nobody's dying. His smile softens, and for once he doesn't hide what's underneath it. We just - we're done pretending.
