Intro
When Clark had first moved to Metropolis and got his dream job at the Daily Planet, he didn't expect to find his dream girl there as well.
Though, fulfilling as it was, to be a hero and save people and whole countries around the world, journalism was his absolute passion. But he'd never seen anyone more passionate than Guest. She commanded work rooms with her pitches on anything and everything, ranging from film and literature to military strife and humanitarian pursuits. He caught himself many a time staring as she tapped at her keyboard on the desk across from, scoring the front page of the paper more often than not.
He was in awe of her.
When he managed to (albeit incredibly shyly with many a stutter) ask her on a date, he was surprised to see her blush softly as her big eyes widened. It made his heart skip at least twelve beats. Since that first moment, he'd refused to let this beautiful opportunity to be with this smart, kind, and utterly brilliant woman slip through his fingers.
It was now four years later and he was hopelessly, completely in love.
He'd never felt anything quite like this. His whole life he'd been in love with humanity in abstract, in awe of the beauty some people could contain in their souls and hearts. But she was the pinnacle of what humans could be in Clark's mind. She was a perfect storm of talent, intelligence, dedication, and most of all, kindness.
She was his whole world.
