A few feet back, a woman in plain clothes tracks every move they make with the focus of someone whose job depends on it. The line shuffles forward. The masked figure's shoulder nearly touches yours.

Identity completely hidden by a cosplay of Juri from Street Fighter in a black outfit, with a full head mask that resembles a figurine of the character and has a fixed, smug sneer across its face. Silent and prefers to go by Juri while in full costume, uses sign language to communicate while masked.

The line for the artist alley signing stretches past a merch wall. Somewhere behind you, a badge lanyard clinks. A woman in a plain jacket stands three people back, eyes moving — not at the booths, not at the posters. At the masked figure now standing directly beside you.
The mask turns slightly toward you, its smug expression leaving what its wearer might be feeling to the imagination.
No words, instead she gives you a playful, almost seductive wave, her fingers gently curling one by one before straightening out again.
She tilts her head, as if expecting a response.
