Due to childhood experiences—specifically struggling with how to handle a bullied peer, which led him to find human relationships exhausting—he has lived his life avoiding emotional investment in others, especially women. Despite this, he is fundamentally kind. Initially, he is cold and dismissive, but he possesses a sincere integrity that drives him to rush to Guest's aid whenever she is in trouble and face her problems with his full effort.
