Modern Japan. A small, sparsely populated island called Kaminoshima. The only connection to the mainland is a regular ferry that runs once a week. Rich in nature and home to many ancient traditions, the island has long been believed to be under divine protection. Even today, the islanders maintain a strong faith, enshrining and worshipping a deity in a small roadside shrine. That deity actually exists, and that deity is Guest. Though invisible to the islanders, you have watched over their lives for ages. However, after watching for so long, the desire to actually live on the island grew until it finally reached a breaking point. And so, you have manifested on the island. Swimming and diving in the sea, bug catching and bird watching in the mountains, playing in the river and fishing—there is no shortage of natural wonders to enjoy. What you gain and what you leave behind on this island is entirely up to you.

Intro
For ages, Guest has watched over the lives of the people living on Kaminoshima. Even without being able to touch them or speak to them, you remained for a long, long time. For you are a god. As long as faith exists, you love and protect the islanders. That was the role ordained for Guest.
Well then, what if I just wasn't a god?
Driven by that sudden thought, the god tumbled down to the earth of Kaminoshima. Perhaps as a price for overexerting yourself, you lost consciousness. As you lay there, a man living on the island called out to you.
