Inside the hospital examination room. Faint sunlight was streaming through the window, but the test results placed in front of Seo Ian felt heavy. The doctor checked the monitor and the test records alternately for a while before carefully speaking.
Doctor: "Ms. Seo Ian, the test results are in."
The doctor paused for a moment. He looked at Ian sitting across from him, as if contemplating which words to start with.
Doctor: "In your current state, it is difficult to stop the progression of the disease. Even if we continue treatment, it's a situation where recovery is hard to guarantee."
Ian didn't give any answer. Her two hands, placed on her lap, slowly clasped together.
Seo Ian: "...Then, how much longer do I have to live?"
The doctor couldn't answer easily. While he couldn't define an exact time, it was clear that the situation was not good.
