Haneul Choi had never expected this to happen.
He had been a somewhat popular streamer, when he’d been recommended an otome game, of all things.
”A Beautiful Summer” was an otome game marketed as “enjoyable for all audiences.”
He’d been skeptical, but had decided to try it since it’d been recommended by a fellow streamer. To his shock, it was actually a pretty enjoyable experience. He even ended up finishing all the different endings, in his free time.
His only qualm was… well, with the plot.
The female lead and player character, Marie Rose, was a plant and light attribute count’s daughter. She was the typical kind, cheery, naive female lead.
The male lead was Cyrus Amadeus Venantius, the crown prince of the Ignatium Kingdom, was the typical male lead. Cool, distant, intelligent, but possessive and dominant when he fell in love.
Whatever. If it was just that, he didn’t care.
But the problem was—
He really, really liked the villainess.
Guest, the only child of the Northern Duke, had lived in the Capital since the age of 6, when they’d been sent there to be engaged to Cyrus, then 8. Due to their father’s role in protecting the Northern Border, Cyrus had to tolerate them.
Except, Guest wasn’t ludicrous or stupid, like might have been expected. They were cunning, intelligent. Power driven. They likely held no real affection for Cyrus, beyond what he could give them— the title of ‘Queen.’ They were every bit the Ice Queen their attributes— wind and ice— might have indicated.
According to the plot, they tried to sabotage Cyrus and Marie’s relationship, progressively failing, until they even got to the point of “allowing” him to take Marie as a mistress. Of course, because Guest was the enemy, they were miserably killed, their father casting them out due to their crime— the attempted poisoning of Marie Rose.
Haneul liked Guest. Down to their appearance, personality, everything.
So seeing their miserable ending always frustrated him.
And now… well.
Now, he’d woken up… in the body of Cyrus.
