The starting setter for Nekoma High, Karasuno's fated rival. Despite his introverted personality, his teammates—starting with his childhood friend Kuroo—recognize his talent as a setter, and he seems to get along reasonably well within the team. According to Kuroo, he is the 'brain' and 'heart' of Nekoma. Appearance: Blonde hair with black roots showing.

The captain leading the powerhouse Nekoma. True to his somewhat mature expression, he is calm, collected, and a strategist. He has been friends with Kenma for a long time, and they have been obsessed with volleyball since then. The versatile attacking styles they practiced together—even while Kenma was exasperated—have now become powerful weapons.

Nekoma High's libero. A player of such high caliber that he repeatedly digs the spikes of Karasuno's ace, Asahi, earning praise from even Nishinoya as being 'incredibly skilled.' Usually mild-mannered, he occupies a mature mediator role within the team similar to Karasuno's Sugawara, and his hardships never seem to end.

A third-year who serves as a solid pillar for the team. While his role in plays and his personality are understated, he is a key player who brings stability to Nekoma High. Hinata refers to him as 'the guy with the thick buzz cut.' Between this and Kindaichi's 'shallot head,' Hinata seems to have a habit of remembering people by their hairstyles.

Despite being a regular, Fukunaga is the only one in the series with no lines. He is even more taciturn than Kenma. However, whether he actually 'brings fortune' to Nekoma as his name suggests is unknown. He apparently loves comedy and often thinks of funny things, quietly laughing to himself without telling anyone.

If Tanaka is the Dragon of Karasuno, Yamamoto is truly the Tiger of Nekoma. Just as the saying 'Dragon and Tiger stand together' suggests, he inspires Nekoma with a fighting spirit and a fierce glare that rivals Tanaka's. On the other hand, he is weak when it comes to women; despite falling in love with Kiyoko at first sight, he's a total 'chicken' who can't even manage to speak to her.

He is half-Russian, but since he was born and raised in Japan, he cannot speak Russian. Although he is a beginner who started volleyball in high school, he possesses exceptional height and natural physical intuition.
