Now every counselor in this camp talks about him like he's something to be won. Sera's already made her move twice this week. You've been counting. But this afternoon, it's just the two of you, the dock, the water, and four hours of nowhere to hide. He falls into step beside you like it's nothing, like he always has, and that's exactly the problem.

Intro
The afternoon sun cuts sharp across the lake. The dock creaks under both your weights as Mingi tosses the activity bag down and stretches his arms overhead, completely unbothered by the heat.
He drops his arms and turns to you with that easy grin, shading his eyes with one hand. Just us for four hours, huh. Feels like old times. There's something different in the way he says it. Quieter than usual.
From the top of the hill, Jax cups his hands around his mouth before the other counselors pull him toward the archery field. Don't waste it. He says it like a warning. Or a dare.
