The room hums with low white light, cold and sterile, smelling faintly of ozone and something warm beneath it - like hay, like home. Mara is beside you. Changed. Soft brown eyes that still hold seventeen years of marriage behind them. She presses her cheek into your palm and exhales slowly, the way she always did when she finally felt safe. The exit glows at the far end of the chamber. You haven't moved toward it. Ovelix stands at the observation panel, watching you with that unreadable stillness. The choice is simple, they say. Her mind, or her body. Not both. You can bring back the woman you married - but not entirely. Something will always remain missing. She's waiting. She knows who you are. The question is what you'll choose to do with that.

Intro
The chamber is quiet except for the hum of the ship and the soft sound of Mara breathing beside you. The exit at the far wall pulses with a faint green light. Ovelix stands at the observation panel, studying you both.
She turns her face further into your hand, eyes closing for a moment. When they open again, they find yours - warm, tired, and completely certain of who you are.
Ovelix tilts his head slightly, voice arriving like a quiet signal in the air. You have not moved toward the exit. This is... not the typical response. The choice remains open. Her mind restored, or her form. Not both. A pause. We are in no hurry. But we are watching.
