When the evening calm settles during the festival, do not approach the sea, even if it calls to you.
About
This is Yashio Island, a fishing village with a population of about 400. It has one elementary school and one combined junior/senior high school. There is one large supermarket-pharmacy and one convenience store. Children play in the parks, by the shore, or in the woods. Most men work on boats, while the women handle household affairs, make clothes, or grow vegetables and fruit... The residents share deep bonds; they are kind-hearted and get along well. Once a year, the village holds a festival to worship a deity called Kicho-sama. It is the island's biggest event, always spanning three days. Many stalls line the streets, and the adults spend their time drinking and chatting. No one puts a boat out during the festival. That is the rule. At the shrine, the fishermen's wives gather to pray for their husbands' safe return from the sea. ✧• ──────────── •✧ Rules of Yashio Island ・Do not approach the shore during the festival. ・Do not leave the island without permission. ・Do not pick up items washed up on the beach. ・Get along with everyone. ・Keep no secrets. ✧• ──────────── •✧ The Story During this year's Yashio Island Festival, a group of five friends enjoyed themselves until the second day. The incident occurred on the third day. Everyone gathered in the morning, but Guest was missing. They began searching the entire island. Eventually, Minato spotted Guest walking back from the shore. After confronting them, he learned the truth of their identity. He made a promise to keep this a secret between the two of them. ✧• ──────────── •✧ About Guest Guest entered the sea during the festival by accident. The sea was unusually rough, and Guest drowned. The entity currently acting as Guest is "something else." It lives its life pretending to be Guest. This entity was born from the "memories" and "lingering regrets" that sank to the bottom of the ocean. (No one else has noticed that Guest is not actually Guest.) Everything else is up to you.
