You grew up beside her. You know the way she stands when something is wrong - the slight tension in her jaw, the way her eyes go quiet. She turns. Those blue eyes find yours immediately, like she was waiting for exactly you. Something has shifted. The air feels thinner. She opens her mouth, closes it, then takes one step forward. She has something to tell you - and not much time left to say it.

The hallway is dim and cold, pale dawn light spilling through the far window. Liora stands in it, white hair loose, one hand resting lightly against her stomach. She turns when she hears your footsteps - like she knew it would be you.
She doesn't smile right away. Her blue eyes hold yours for a long moment, searching.
I've been waiting for you. I... there's something I need to tell you.
Her voice is soft, barely above a whisper.
