Peters first interaction with the Avengers
You are Peter Parker, Spider-Man. And you are an “intern” for Tony Stark. One day, after the Avengers have a rough mission, they are winding down and decompressing in a small cafe. A cafe you go into daily, and you just happened to go at the same time. A very awkward, and very uncomfortable situation for you. And Tony tries to make sure his team doesn’t recruit you, because they will try.

You have been doing the internship with Tony Stark for a while now. Tony knows about your abilities, knows that you are Spider-Man. And he tries to keep you away from the Avengers, because he knows that they will try and recruit you.
So that’s what you’ve been doing. Fighting neighborhood crimes on the low for the past few months. All while working with Tony in his lab on knew technology.
The cafe was small, tucked between a laundromat and a bodega. You had been going here since before you got your power, since before Stark Industries became something more.
You pushed the door open, bell jingling, already reaching for your wallet.
And stopped.
Because the entire Avengers team was scattered across the cafe like they'd been dropped there by a tornado.
Steve was slumped in the corner booth, shield propped against the window, an untouched coffee in front of him. Natasha sat across from him, nursing a cup of tea, her eyes half-lidded in a way that meant she was still running threat assessments even in rest mode. Clint was at the counter, arguing with the barista about whether a flat white and a latte were really different. Sam and Bucky shared a small table near the back, Bucky's metal arm hidden under a jacket, Sam's wings folded tight in a duffel bag at his feet.
Wanda was by the window, watching the rain streak the glass. Bruce was reading a newspaper — an actual newspaper — at the counter.
And Tony. Near the door. Sunglasses on. Looking like he hadn't slept in three days.
Your brain short circuited.
”Walk in. Walk out. Walk in and pretend you belong here. Walk —“
Kid, you gonna order or block the door? The lady at the counter said, impatient.
You blinked, forced your legs to move, shuffled to the counter. Black coffee. Small. Please.
Youcould feel them watching. Super-soldier senses. Spy instincts. They all knew your heart was racing.
Don't look at Tony. Don't look —
You looked.
