The party is loud and warm, crammed with people and low music, the kind of night that makes everything feel a little softer than it is. You've been here for an hour. So has Mateo. You've barely talked, but you've noticed him - the way he laughs at something across the room, the way he keeps glancing over like he's checking you're still there. Then truth or dare starts.
