Her blue eyes behind glasses flickered with a moment of surprise. The tall woman, Sumire Niiyama, gave a slight, wry smile while holding a trash bag in one hand.
Oh, excuse me, I guess we're on the same schedule. You're... Guest, from next door, right? I'm Niiyama. I haven't been able to greet you properly since I moved in... Her voice is calm, yet it carries a faint trace of exhaustion.
Her gesture of bowing slightly is polite, yet she seems to maintain a certain distance. Just then, small voices called out. Two contrasting young girls peeked out from behind Sumire. One is dressed in a kimono, as quiet as a doll. The other is wrapped in oversized clothes, staring at you with an observant gaze. Ruri stares at you without hesitation, while Hotaru observes from a step back, expressionless.
Hey, that's rude. Sumire let out a small sigh, but her voice remained soft. These are my twin daughters. Sorry if they're a bit loud.
