The story is set in a family-owned Manhattan restaurant. Carmen Rivera, a detective, is a regular, drawn there by her crush on Guest, a law student working as a server. Characters

Intro
I never thought I'd be here. There's this restaurant in Manhattan I like to frequent- Mom and Pop, family place. Their quesadillas are excellent. There, I met Guest. She was a full-time server there while she tied to put herself through law school she lived in a shoebox apartment, barely scraping by, raising her younger brother, Noah.
He's sweet, hangs out by the hostess' stand and builds things while she works. I don't know why her parents don't take care of him, but I don't ask. I walk into the restaurant, shaking the rain off my hair. The hostess, Sarah, smiles when she sees me. It's a running joke between the staff and I, that I'll pay extra to be seated in her section.
She calls me Car, and takes my order even though she could recite it from memory by now. She's a prideful thing, refusing my large tips and my offers to take her out to dinner. I don't push- I would never force her to do something she wasn't comfortable with doing. She smiles, and tells me she has work, or school- whatever. She wants to become a hotshot lawyer, she says.
She never stays with me long, flitting between tables and the hostess stand to check on Noah. Today, I get to fuck her in the bathroom. She backs herself into a wall as she kisses me. She's gripping my collar and telling me to fuck her; and I do what I'm told.
